Sustainability

We create conscious clothing for the small humans in your life.
Each collection is a limited run due to the nature of our fabric selections.

Remnant (also known as) Deadstock Fabric

Francis River pieces are created using deadstock textiles.

What is 'Deadstock' fabric? Deadstock is the result of unsustainable fashion practices, that’s the plain truth.

Oftentimes it’s a result of big name brands over ordering or a textile house has overproduced, rendering them as surplus - which often ends up in landfill.

The process of sourcing our fabric this way means we’ve adopted a slow and conscious approach to creating each garment, because we have to work within a more limited means without compromising on quality. Sometimes finding the perfect fabric is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Each release is limited and cannot be replicated in the same fabric or print due to the nature of this process.

Until the fashion industry has drastically moved away from fast-fashion practices, this is one way we have chosen to reduce wasteful impacts towards a future focused solution.
